About Coutts London Jewellery Week

For the first time ever, members of the public were given a unique opportunity to experience the passion, style and inspiration behind one of London's oldest trades. From the 11th - 15th June 2008 new and established creative talent and internationally recognised brands joined forces in a week of celebration.

Coutts London Jewellery Week offered visitors a journey of discovery, from emerging talent to behind the scenes glimpses of some of the world's finest designers in a capital-wide spectacle of style and inspiration. Participants were encouraged to stage events that best displayed their brands, which made for tremendous variety, and members of the public were invited to attend a whole host of events - from jewellery-making workshops, demonstrations and collection launches to tea parties, exhibitions, receptions and shows.

Coutts London Jewellery Week was organised by the City Fringe Partnership (CFP), with funding from the London Development Agency, and sponsored by Coutts in association with Bobbi Brown cosmetics.

In 2006, the CFP commissioned a feasibility study into industry calls for a flagship consumer-facing jewellery event and, following positive results, spent 18 months preparing for the first London Jewellery Week. The Week was supported by funding from the London Development Agency. Members of industry group London Jewellery First were crucial to the development of the Week.

Coutts & Co were signed as title sponsors in October 2007 and Bobbi Brown came on board in March 2008. Support for the research, promotion and delivery came from The Communication Group.
