Starting the trail in north London, you will encounter Amanda Mansell's gallery, Dualpod, a leading London gallery situated in the Mall Antiques Arcade on Upper Street. Dualpod will be exhibiting the work of 35 contemporary designers and showcasing Tine de Ruysser's jewellery.
Just a stone's throw away lies the Electrum Gallery, one of the city's foremost contemporary galleries, displaying the work of over 100 jewellers. They attract customers with their exquisite one-off gold and silver pieces, popular with both celebrities and highly discerning collectors.
The next stop finds you at the Contemporary Applied Arts (CAA) on Percy Street, founded in 1948 as the Crafts Council of Great Britain. The CAA is delighted to be exhibiting jewellery by Vicki Ambery-Smith, Wendy Ramshaw and Jacqueline Mina.
Moving along to Cockpit Arts in Holborn you will be treated to the cutting-edge designs of Sarah King, Ruth Tomlinson and Katherine Wardropper. Cockpit Arts is both a creative hub housing acclaimed and emerging talent and a charity set up to help budding jewellers achieve commercial success.
Heading east you arrive at Hatton Garden, the epicentre of the UK's jewellery industry and London's original jewellery quarter, dating back to the 15th century. Nicholas James will be home to some of Britain's most daring contemporary jewellery designers and stage for the 'Young Upstarts' exhibition, showcasing ten hand-picked new talents comprising: Josef Koppmann, David Goodwin, Lilly Hastedt, Jo Hayes Ward, Sarah Hutchison, Karola Torkos, Sarah Herriot, Zoe Arnold, Andrew Lamb and Stacey Whale.
The Garden Studios at Number 5 St Cross Street are a breath of fresh air, surrounded by greenery away from the hubbub of the City. This is a dynamic social enterprise which provides a platform for creative businesses, each of which embraces jewellery as a culture. They will be holding a Garden Party where you can buy fabulous pieces specially designed by nine different jewellers.
Nearby, on St John's Square in Clerkenwell, you can visit the Brilliance exhibition. Brilliance will be celebrating the work of a group of innovative and brilliant hand-made jewellery designers. Those who will be exhibiting include Ann Alleweireldt, Disa Allsopp, Hidemi Asano, Elizabeth Bone, Sonia Cheadle, Sarah Herriot, Daphne Krinos and Anna Lewis.
Heading on to Clerkenwell Green you will find The Lesley Craze Gallery. Lesley Craze's primary motivation is to distinguish the avant garde and she shows works by 100 talented artists using metal, plastic, paper, porcelain and precious metals and stones as well as new materials such as liquid nylon and techniques such as rapid prototyping and laser welding.
Winding further east towards Canary Wharf, you make your way to the main concourse at the Mary Ward Centre and find an inspiring show of works by students who have come together to combine their skills and passion to create a striking array of jewellery and sculptures in silver and gold. These will also be displayed at 42 Queen's Square, WC1N.
An about turn, moving west, you arrive at Zest and the Whitewall Gallery, both outstanding examples of contemporary jewellery. Close by is flow gallery, which is exhibiting the genius creations of Karl Fritsch with jaw-dropping gems.
Journeying south west, you will find yourself before the breathtaking architecture of the Victoria & Albert Museum. Exhibits within include the show-stopping 'White Queen' ring set by the British queen of jewellery herself, Wendy Ramshaw. It has been created with gold, sapphire, pearl and enamel and is inspired by the White Queen from Lewis Carroll's Alice Through The Looking Glass.
No trail of London is complete without the Thames, the main artery of the city. When you get to the Southbank, look to the sky and you will spot the iconic OXO Tower overlooking the water.
